How long are therapy sessions?

The initial intake is 60 minutes and is largely history and information gathering and setting your goals for  treatment. Sessions following are typically 53 minutes long.

How often are therapy sessions?

You typically begin meeting with your therapist weekly to allow time to establish a relationship necessary to do the work of therapy. You and your therapist will work together to determine when to transition to biweekly or monthly meetings. We are a client-centered practice, meaning we encourage sessions to focus on client-identified areas of growth and need.

LCSW vs LPC?

There can be a lot of acronyms in the therapy world, and we are all about transparency and removing power dynamics around here. LCSW stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker. LPC stands for Licensed Professional Counselor. Both must hold master's degrees, complete 3000 hours of supervised clinical experience, and pass a state board examination.
